Hi! I'm Sara and I love finding new ways to bring together math and water systems. I am currently a Hydraulic Control and Optimization Engineer at Xylem, Inc.

I'm excited about coupling environmental and water resources engineering, data science and machine learning, and systems analysis to tackle problems related to competing water quantity and quality objectives and the role of data in decision actions.

I recently completed my graduate work where I was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. I have degrees from:

University of Michigan
  • Ph.D. Environmental Engineering (2020)

Dissertation: Coupled, data-driven, and real-time modeling and control of sewer systems and water resource recovery facilities

  • M.S.E. Electrical and Computer Engineering (2019)
Signal and Image Processing and Machine Learning
  • M.S.E. Civil Engineering (2017)
    Intelligent Systems
North Carolina State University
  • B.S. Environmental Engineering (2015)
  • B.S. Mathematics (2015)
